"Focusing" is a technique used in psychotherapy to tap into the emotional intelligence of the body. Created by Dr. Eugene Gendlin, this technique has been widely researched and used to increase the efficacy of therapy. In this course, David Rome shows how we can use focusing to improve our emotional intelligence, solve problems, and create lasting change. By adding mindfulness to the practice of focusing, David shows how we can use this technique as a daily practice that can greatly enrich our life.

Powerful Grief Counseling
Techniques and Strategies
Grief can be one of the most difficult experiences a person can go through. Grief is often experienced from losing a loved one, the end of a relationship, losing a job, or even from experiencing a natural disaster. Any situation where there is a feeling of losing something, whether it is physical or emotional, can lead to the experience of grief.
Unfortunately, our culture has many misconceptions about grief. We are often taught that time heals all wounds, a belief that can actually cause damage. We are also given messages that being strong means that we should turn away from our feelings and "get over it." Sadly, these misconceptions tend to prolong the grieving process and cause more suffering.
In this course you will learn:
● How long it takes to grieve and what to expect
● How to validate and understand the feelings that come up with the loss
● How to make a personalized resiliency plan
● Why the standard stages of grief model is outdated
● How to use mindfulness, journaling, and yoga to work through grief
● How to draw on our personal connections to support you through the grieving process
● Research-backed techniques that will help you heal the wound of grief

It is estimated 70% of people will experience at least one traumatic event in their lifetime. Despite this, most people do not understand how untreated trauma effects the mind and body, and those with PTSD often do not know how to find the resources they need. In this course, trauma expert Dr. Arielle Schwartz discusses the effects of PTSD on the mind and body, as well as some helpful tips in finding treatment and alleviating symptoms in daily life. At the end of the course is a collection of audio "grounding practices" designed to help people in a triggered state relax their nervous system and find peace.
